Lemmy he don’t really walk on water
But he just might sleep with your daughter
Aint’ gonna save your soul
He might save rock n’ roll
He came to earth on a motorcycle
And when he did he chose his disciples
Then they went to rehearsal
Fast Eddie Clarke and Wurzel
Chorus
What would Lemmy do
What would Lemmy do
What would Lemmy do
Whatever it is he’d do it better than you
Lemmy’ll save us from terrorist attacks
With just a pipe and a shot of jack
He don’t use no nukes
He wears his daisy dukes
And Lemmy he might never make it to heaven
He’s got a Marshall amp that goes to 11
Try nailing him on a cross
And he’ll tell you to get lost (f*** off)
Bridge:
But Lemmy, he’s a good man
He’d give you the shirt of his back
He can make the starving a feast
From a burger and a shot of Jack
And when he speaks wisdom comes
That is so true so amazing
It frees your soul though you admit
You’ve no freaking clue what he’s saying
Lemmy wasn’t born in 4 B.C
It was a few years later you see
And now he’s living in sin
With Mary Magdelene
And there was no immaculate conception
He’s probably on his third resurrection
He’s comin’ back from the dead
To tour with Motorhead
These are song lyrics from our family band The Cheesebergens about our lord and savior Lemmy Kilmister. For those unfamiliar I am including a clip from his documentary.
His 3rd resurrecction… haha, great lyrics! Love it! I would love to hear the song too, Marissa!
Thank Erika! I was going to include video of us playing it but my husband didn’t import it into Youtube so I couldn’t add it as media here. It wasn’t very good footage anyway.
Perhaps you do another record one day and then …. pleeeeeeease post it!!! 😀 But you know that you can upload a simple audio file too! I uploaded my songs that way. Just fyi… hint, hint 😉
Yes, if we ever record anything I will post. Thanks for the info.
👍👍👍
I love that you rock with your family 🙂
Me too! Thanks Michelle!
Thanks Michelle! Me too!!
A pinch of satire, a garnish of truth…voila! A serving of old fashioned fun!
Yes, are you a Lemmy fan?
Of course…although Metallica remain a particular favourite…The Black Album is rather special
Yes, Metallica do have a bit more to them. Something about Lemmy as a person though. You know, I’ve met him several times in London, New York and L.A.
OK Marissa just because the only famous person I’ve ever met is the milkman (and that was only after he was finally released from The Scrubs) you don’t have to rub it in!
Oh man…wait a minute….you met the milkman!! What was he like? Did you have to get up early to meet him and stuff? Did he sign anything?? Are you getting his autograph tattooed on your chest??
Not sure if it was him or my son (they look alike)…you see the wife normally collects the milk in!
Strange…my son kind of resembles the pool boy…
Have you no memory Marissa!…surely you must have…then again back in 1926 in Berlin I must admit I had no idea which of the three of them to say ‘thank you and how much do I owe’ come the next morning!
That was a wild time. Now about all that compares is the memory part.
I forgot which one was my sock drawer this morning…how times have changed!
I didn’t realize that he was in Hawkwind! Cool beans! Plus, Lemmy plays a Rickenbacker, which makes him AOK in my book.
Yes, a Rickenbacker through a Marshall stack!! Lemmy’s awesome!
Lemmy’ll save us from terrorist attacks
With just a pipe and a shot of jack
… now that’s the stuff of legend! 🙂
Thanks for the education on Lemmy and Motorhead!
Yes, I published this one running the risk that I might alienate anyone who wasn’t really familiar with Lemmy. Thanks for taking the time to get acquainted!!
btw – today I was meeting a friend for lunch, and you will never believe what I found on route …. a School of Rock!!!
I thought of you immediately and laughed out loud. You’re right – I had one was in my own territory!
Yes, they are very trendy and popping up all over the place! Keep your eyes open…I bet you’ll see more!
… and I’m sure every time I do, I’ll laugh and think of you 🙂
Lemmy is a real learning curve for me, but I’m a very curious person. You would never alienate me, Marissa!
Very much appreciated!
daisey dukes may border on too much information
Tell Lemmy that.
daisey dukes may border on too much information for me
I’m unfamiliar with Lemmy, and will watch the doco later on today. On first account, it reminded me of The Lemmings. Also, love the name of your band Cheesebergens!
I don’t know why but for some reason I’m getting no sound on my Mac here at work so I can’t listen to this. I’ll have to remember to come back and listen when I’m at home. I’m glad you like the name. My husband hated it at first. He thought it sounded like we were a novelty band. I told him “we’re in a band with our children. I think a novelty band is exactly what we are.
Yeah the sound effects are definitely worth it. Novelty is the better than real I reckon. Maybe a band called ‘Novelty Band’ could work.
Brilliant!
😀
I have to admit that I’m not that familiar with Motorhead, but he does sound compelling for sure.
Does rock dude know about Lemmy? (Sorry, can’t quite remember what you call your bf.)
Rock dude says he knows him from the Rainbow Bar & Grill – Sunset Strip.
Yes, Lemmy is always at The Rainbow, well he always used to be anyway. Now his health is not so good.(So it is rock dude? I got it right?)
Close, it is the Rock Guy…I hear The Rainbow is neat. The HOW band will be playing the Whisky again on February 20th. 🙂
Ah, Rock Guy…got it! The Rainbow is cool. It’s it’s own little corner of time. You go there and are immediately transported to the 80’s (heavy metal scene). I used to go there a lot but it can get depressing after a while because there are a lot of drugs and drinking and everyone’s kind of in a time warp. It can be a bit dangerous that way which is part of it’s allure but you have to know when to say when.
I will keep the 20th in mind. Will they have a late slot?
Yeah he said that there is some darkness there. I love your description, I’ve never been there, but I also think of it as a time warp as many of those rock clubs fall by the way side. They are scheduled as the 10 o’clock band.
Okay. Another late one (by my standards) but I’ll see what I can do. If there’s nothing going on early the next day I’ll see if we can swing it.
Sure thing 🙂
I don’t know Lemmy. Have never met the guy either. I am familiar with Motorhead. I think I’ve seen it in my hubby’s records.
But I am looking forward to hearing this song played by the Cheesebergens.
Well since The Cheesebergens are about to be the most important rock band of the decade, that’s all you need to know!
Agreed!
Lemme is quite the character which is shown in his contradictions. Your family is one I would like to live near. . . 🙂
Hope you don’t mind guitars blasting at random hours of the night!! Ha, just kidding.
Marissa, there are few of those who play music like Lemmy. Straight from the gut, the whiskey sounding worn out voice which keeps up with the fast hitting rock beat. He definitely set the rock and roll world on fire and keeps on going. I understand better why your family admires him, too. Thanks for saying I could be your neighbor, Marissa. Listening to the Bergens would be good wake up music. No need for my java jolt! 🙂
Funny, you seem to be one of the few who actually know who he is. When I published this, I was a bit concerned with alienating readers who didn’t know him but was surprised at how many actually did not!! Anyway, you seem to have him pretty down.
By the way, the front apartment in our building will be available on Dec 1…ha, ha!
Good to know, but I just signed my new lease for 2016. Only $10 monthly increase and if I move out; I may get my whole fifty bucks deposit back. Truth. 🙂
Oh, that’s pretty good…and I’m sure it beats L.A. rent by a mile. This place is pretty cheap by L.A. standards.
History revisited, interesting tale :))
For sure!
you bring so much fun with words 🙂
thank you! That is my goal!
You really have a skill for story poetry, Blessings Marissa.
Thank you Cecilia!
I learn something new every day……Lemmy. I never knew. Now I do.
It is my goal!
Teach me oh wise one!
So that’s where Spinal Tap got their badass.
Ah, Lemmy was rockin’ when I was but a wee lass.
You were a wee lass? I thought you were a teen punk rocker when you were born. There is a rumor that you could have given Patti Smith and Chrissie Hyde a run for their money. Is it true?
There is a lot that happened during those days that I will neither confirm or deny. However, if someone asks you for a comment, just stress the fact that I am indeed MUCH, MUCH younger!!
Oh oh oh.
I’m speechless.
This was so good.
I’m crying, but I’m smiling huge 🙂
I was a poker player in my past life, so I always bonded with Ace of Spades.
So so good, Marissa!
Thanks for reading. I’m glad you liked it. The words are silly but I think it somehow captures him.
What a brilliantly kick ass ode to Lemmy. The great beyond is gonna need more Jack…
Indeed! Any fan of Lemmy is a friend of mine.
